Don was a kind man, great director. I am privileged to have known him and worked with him! The world has truly lost a great man much too soon!

Don and I worked together for several years in the 1990s and he was an unassumingly creative and large talent who made everything he touched better, including people. During the lulls in long days and nights, he gave his time away generously and we all got better at our work. I had beers and bourbons with Don after we moved on and a chance to talk about things not work. Too few times, which has also taught me a lesson brother. Thanks Don.

I had the very good fortune to be Don's friend in high school and early college days. His humor and non-acceptance of the status quo brought lots of fun & challenges into those angst filled times. My memories of his friendship, talent and wit will be with me always. Susan Edmunds Meeks, Butler High School, Class of '77.

Working with Don on 10 documentaries over a 10 year period was probably the highlight of my professional life. Don was so talented and so enjoyable to work with and truly a great friend!

Don was a remarkable friend and man and enhanced the lives of all of us who knew his humor, intelligence, and humanity. So long, my friend.
