I had the occasion to interact with Ruth in her role at Children's Services related to my organization, Wide Horizons For Children's, international adoption work. Ruth was a true friend to adoption, and worked tirelessly in support of vulnerable and at-risk children. Having become a mother herself through this process gave her a deep and meaningful commitment to the children she served. All of us here at Wide Horizons were so very sorry to hear of her untimely passing. We extend our...

I am so very sad to hear of Ruth's passing. It was such a shock to learn that she was ill and she was taken from us much too soon. She was a very kind, caring, warm, funny person who strove to help those in need. Her many friends will mourn her and for those who loved her, she leaves a gap no one can fill. Deepest sympathies to the Lincoln family from someone who loved Ruth.

Ruth and I had conversations on the phone few times. First time when she knew I was Indian, she immediately bonded and said her daughter was also adopted from India and we talked personal things. She knew all about Indian culture and enjoyed speaking about it. She was kind, helpful, always returned the calls in friendly manners. We will miss her. Condolences to her daughter Sarala and her family members. May her soul rest in peace. May heaven welcome her with love. Sorry to miss you Ruth.

Gone too soon, my friend and neighbor of 20 yrs, so many find memories when you brought Sarala home and introduced me to her.
May her soul rest in peace, but her spirit live on forever.
Goodbye my friend, until we meet again!

As cousins, I remember you growing up and was delighted to reconnect with you here and there throughout the years. I admired you for the amazing work you did. I will never forget how kind you were to my mom, keeping in touch with her through cards and letters. This world has lost a special individual. Susan Hummel Phillips, Decatur, GA

I will miss you very much, Ruth. You will never know how much your presence helped while we were posted in Chennai (formerly Madras), India.
You were certainly a big part of our lives in the "Padmini" and "Rohini" apartment compounds. My daughter Kirsten loved you, you had quite the calming affect whenever she got a little too rambunctious! And even "Watty-Kitty" didn't seem to mind Kirsten chasing him.
We had some really good times, and I wish I...
